I wonder if someday i could be like Tony Stark and fly at supersonic speeds. His command center is just awesome. Already there are experiments that allow people to fly for couple of minutes on self-propelled gadgets.
A command center connected to all the databases and speech recognition s/w on top of it was just cool. The robots were intelligent enough to understand human emotions and were responsive enough to behave in a deterministic and predictive way.
Similarly IRobot was such a wonderful piece of imagination that allowed people to think beyond robots. Robots enslaving other robots and even enslaving whole human civilization.
The truth is that people remember legends. Tony stark is the latest entry to all these superheroes with technology showcases might still be some decades away but surely not impossible.
I sometimes wonder do technocrats lack the imagination of Hollywood directors as technology usually lags behind the movies that allow you to believe in things that are still some decades away. Surely we can one day all fly like Tony Stark!
